Friday Fun: Writers Redux

Writing is your passion –
your obsession or addiction?
I feel your pain, so …

Let’s laugh the whole thing off

Quick Intro before we get to the Funnies

There are so many memes and funnies about writers that I think somebody could do an entire blog featuring nothing else.

I am not that somebody – check out Debbie Ridpath Ohi and Will Write for Chocolate, for that one – but I do have a bit more to share on the topic.

So today we are revisiting the writers for a bit more Friday Fun, as promised (or threatened, depending on how you felt about the first one.)

I’m hoping to brighten the day for some poor writer who is reading my blog instead of getting back to his story.

Stuck, huh?

It happens to all of us – why do you think I do these funnies?

Science tells us that taking breaks enhances creativity, by the way — and I’m choosing to believe that study, replicated or not!

So lets get on with the break dance.

How many of the situations below make YOU nod your head?

If you have something on your website or blog that relates to the theme, especially if it’s humorous, please feel free to leave a link in a comment. Keep it to one link per comment or you’ll be auto-spammed, but multiple comments are just fine and most welcome.

AND NOW for some more humor TODAY . . .

Don’t forget that you can always check out the sidebar
for a reminder of how links work on this site, they’re subtle ==>

This Friday’s theme: Return of the Writers

(most images below found on Pinterest)

We all know the type

The dreaded writer’s block

And now, we edit . . .

NO explanation needed

Th-th-th-at’s all folks!

But if you want some more NOW, hop over to writer Charles Yallowitz’s blog (Legends of Windemere) for the ones he shared in his May 21 post: So, You’re A Writer Funnies

Funnies post only occasionally

Reminding you of what I disclosed in the introduction to this series, Funnies about Perspective: unlike the ongoing Sunday Smiles and Monday Funnies you’ll find on Chris The Story Reading Ape’s Blog, my Friday Funnies will show up only occasionally, usually clustered around a theme.

If things seem to have gotten a tad serious in the world – or on – get ready for another hit of humor, most likely another Friday Funny.

Don’t forget: The next Group Coaching is enrolling NOW.

This low-cost format is designed especially to support anyone who would like a bit of professional coaching when money is tight.

IN ANY CASE, do stay tuned.
There’s a lot to know, a lot here already, and a lot more to come – in this Series and in others.
Get it here while it’s still free for the taking.

If you’d like some coaching help with anything that came up while you were reading this Series (one-on-one couples or group), click HERE for Brain-based Coaching with mgh, with a contact form at its end (or click the E-me link on the menubar at the top of every page). Fill out the form, submit, and an email SOS is on its way to me; we’ll schedule a call to talk about what you need. I’ll get back to you ASAP (accent on the “P”ossible!)

  2. Awesome post, Madelyn. I am so glad I saved this for Monday morning at 6am the day after I got up at 5am to process the [hopefully] last changes to Silly Willy goes to Cape Town, before hosting a birthday party for Mr Fox [my husband].

  7. I’m not blocked from writing. I’m procrastinating.

    • LOL! That’s me too, Lloyd. I rarely have any more trouble coming up with something to write about than I have ringing in verbally with an opinion.

Quite the opposite. Once I start writing I hyperfocus – the next thing I know it’s m-u-c-h later. I spend so much time on my computer already, I often hesitate to begin.

      • My current, and primary excuse to procrastinate and avoid sitting in front of my desktop for more than a few hours a day is the fact that I bought an abused and neglected house that I am now renovating mostly by myself. It will be years before that excuse is gone.

        • Your procrastination is A LOT more active than mine!

I did get my dog walked and brushed before sitting down to write – but the laundry is still waiting for attention 😦 — and the article I’ve been working on is STILL not ready. 😦

So my friend Peggy & I are going to go have a drink with Tink and his fans at his Cheers bar to commiserate. 🙂

  8. Gold! I find inspiration comes when I’m super pissed! Tonight I wrote about 5
Posts. Five posts that not many people will take the time to read. Write anything you feel and it will appeal to who it’s meant to. Cheers,H

  11. What a great way to start my Friday, Madelyn. These memes are so funny. I wrote about writer’s block when I got laid off from my job and had ‘resume writer’s block.’ Hope you get a laugh from it.
