Catch Up Time

Some of you may already be aware that in the past month I have lost three people who are very dear to me:

  • Kate Kelly  — You Mean I’m NOT Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?! co-author, beloved by thousands
  •  Patti Bryant — a friend since college, with whom I did theatre, as did a great many of the close-knit theatre group who’ stay connected on FaceBook and with periodic reunions, and
  • my father, Col. Millard Earl “Brandy” Griffith, Ph.D.

I’m reeling, and more than overwhelmed.

Running around like headless chickens this past two weeks, flying point on Kate’s Memorial Service details, Kate’s co-author Peggy Ramundo & I have gotten so little sleep that we’re sincerely hoping we don’t drop off as soon as we sit down for the service this Saturday.

Soooo —- I’m taking Edie’s advice (TBI advocate and author of  the BrainInjurySelfRehabilitation blog).

I will be taking next week to grieve (after I catch my breath and a few solid nights’ sleep!)

I’ll be back here on Oct 22 at the earliest.

Jump over to Edie’s blog while I’m gone  – it’s fascinating – check out what her readers are up to, and join in on the conversation.

Click the TBI links below to see how much Traumatic Brain Injury and Attention Deficit Disorder have in common (and jump over to the site of another TBI advocate who blogs under the name of BrokenBrilliant.)

You will find links to both sites in the Links section on the skinny column to your right, listed under  TBI (scroll down). Hover before clicking for a brief description of what you can expect to find there.  THEN click.

Meanwhile, Don’t Forget ADD Awareness Week is NEXT week — beginning October 15, 2012!

That would be a great week to catch up on an article or two you’ve missed here on ADDandSoMuchMore!

Make sure you do something nice for ADD in my name, will you please? (at the very least, insist that those around you comply with a one week moratorium on ADD potshots.)

This is ADD Awareness Week! Please take the time to visit addandsomuchmore.com and peruse the educational information to help with TBI, ADD, ADHD, a loved one, and more.

Kate Kelly the co-author of “I’m NOT Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!” , a Pioneer with ADHD, Memorial Service was yesterday. She passed away within the past month. It’s been a sad time within the ADHD community. Let’s support and offer prayers to those who survive and continue their works with ADD, ADHD and so much more.

Tell me what you think. I believe you will see how ADD overlaps with TBI and so many other cognitive problems in health. There are solutions to problems and organization. Looking forward to hearing from my readers. I believe you’ll find this entire site a great resource. Take one article at a time. There’s a lot to take in.

Madelyn also refers to Broken Brilliant. I also enjoy this educational site and you can click on it from either addandsomuchmore.com or from my links on home page. Happy reading! Let me know what you believe helps you personally?

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so glad that you took this time off. You probably needed to do it even sooner than this, eh? While we’ll miss you, we can certainly muddle on through and we want you back healthy and rested, okay? Love you!

    • You’ve got THAT right! There is so much I want to do re:ADD that it is all too easy for me to become a human-DOing. Times like these force me to stop, take stock, and start again differently.

Maybe THIS time I’ll build in enough down time that I’ll have some reserves. Like my clients and students, I need to strengthen my own NO-muscle or I’ll be right back to overwhelm in a heartbeat.

Thanks for your comment. ALL the Memrial fall-out is still not behind me, but at least some things are. “This too shall pass” and “I walk calmly through this seeming madness” have become my mantras of late!

Love you too – if I haven’t handled this by the first of the year, remind me that I want to talk to you about becoming a trainer
